In addition to up-to-date information about the Baltic Sea, the Portal provides basic information on the Sea and its environmental state, on threats to the Sea, on marine research in Finland and on the protection of the Baltic Sea. The Portal is maintained by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Ministry of the Environment.
