Description: Chantix has been prescribed to more than 4 million patients in the United States since its approval in 2006 as a treatment for smoking cessation. However, in 2007 and 2008, the FDA has issued a series of warnings regarding the product's safety, citing serious neuropsychiatric symptoms including depression, suicide and homicidal tendencies, as well as medical problems such as Stevens Johnson Syndrome, hepatitis, liver failure and diabetes.
