Description: DATA CLOUD / META MAP was created by artists Frances Whitehead John DeVylder for ARTetal Studio with assistance from GIS specialist Todd J. Schuble. The metamap is a data visualization of the entire Chicago Festival of Maps, November 2007 to February 2008. Data from over 1200 maps and artifacts is plotted by the year made, and the locations depicted, using ESRI GIS software. The work was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago for the exhibition Mapping the Self on view into 2008. More info...
