Why Are Barns Red
Description: Do you know why barns are red?Why not the barns painted with other colors such as white, blue, or green?I often ask about it every time while see the Barns in rural areas. I always refrained from asking because I was not ready to be considered less insight. But my friend, who lived on the farm that I always visit her every summer, understand that I harbored a lot of questions about agriculture and among them is my question above. My friend explained what I do not know along the way to her house. She explained that the barn colored red because red is the color of a warm and can absorb sunlight suitable to the contents stored in the Barns. The color red can keep crops and dairy farmer has stored in it becomes warm in the winter though, and not humid so many growing mushrooms. The red color also shows how friendly his farmers and they could be next door to anyone. It is a good idea for choosing the red color, in my opinion. My friend told me about his experience at paint her Barns with her father and brothers. They collect iron oxide, lime, and oil from hemp seed. They mix it in a large container so that the color is red. In some farmer mixed their barns paint with animal blood from their hunt. Iron oxide is used to kill fungi that are pests to plants and crops of farmers and it also produce red color in its chemical reactions.Does not feel we got home my friend. Now I can explain to my kindergarten students Why Are Barns Red.
