#650503. Vinnies Styles
Since the 1970s, Vinnie ‘s has been earning recognition as a destination for contemporary fashion throughout the streets of Brookyn. New York . Calvin Robertson, a Panamanian tailor (affectionately known as Mr.Vinnie), opened the first Vinnie’s in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. In the late 70’s
Vinnie’s delivered well-crafted, modern menswear at an affordable price to it’s community and loyal costumers. These principles soon became the cornerstones of the Vinnie Style philosophy, the definition of what clothing should be—relevant, innovative, well-crafted representations of self and community.
Brothers , Desta, Jacob, and Paul Parris, opened their own Vinnie Styles on Flatbush Avenue in 2002, not only as an homage to their grandfather, but with the intent to build on the vision of the original by making it more reflective of their fast paced street style. The success of the new Vinnie Styles’ venture lead to a second retail location in Atlanta’s Little Five Points neighborhood in 2008, and a children’s store (Little Vinnies) across the street from the flagship on Flatbush Avenue in early 2010.
Since opening of their Flatbush Avenue store 8 years ago, the Parris brothers have truly proven that retail in their blood . Trendsetting clientele now travel from as far as Japan, Europe, and such far-out states as California to check and see what Vinnies has to offer.
