Russborough open daily to the public for viewing and walks, hosts corporate events, Christmas festivals, exhibitions, concerts, food and Art, and is a major tourist attraction, with historic rooms to see. Located in Irish countryside in Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland, beside Blessington. Features Alfred Beit Paintings. Visit historic homes, castles & gardens. Russborough was built for Joseph Leeson, later Lord Milltown. Building began in 1741 and took ten years to complete. The house is built of granite and is in the Palladian style. Important features in the house include stucco ceilings by the Lafrancini brothers, marble mantelpieces, inlaid floors and lavish use of mahogany in doors, dados and staircase. It is also famous for a number of Art Robberies which took place. Russborough fire 2010.
