The NCPPB is an internationally recognised Bacteria Culture
Collection holding almost all known Bacterial Plant Pathogens which are available for sale at competetive prices.
Information on the Sale, Accession, and Deposit, of Type, Pathotype, and Reference strains of Plant Pathogenic
Bacteria and phage. The NCPPB offers Freeze drying, identification and characterisation services for plant
associated bacteria. Search the NCPPB catalogue by pathogen name, plant host, phage, or culture collection
catalogue number. Genome sequenced strains are now available for some taxa. The NCPPB intends that sufficient
cultures shall be kept of each species to be representative of its geographic and host range, and of the
variation within it. Some of the methods we use for identification of plant diseases include Fatty acid profiling,
repetitive sequence PCR , AFLP fingerprints, 16s rDNA sequencing, and gyraseB, sequencing, and Koch's postulate.
We supply freeze dried Plant Bacterial Strains, Slants, Slopes, DNA Extracts and Reference material. The sale of
strains from the NCPPB are subject to CSL Terms and conditions and material transfer agreement. Exports - Those
bacterial pathogens named on the 'Australia List' will require an export licence to be shipped out of the EU. The
NCPPB seeks to conform with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and all NCPPB strains sold are subject
to the spirit of the Convention. To hold or work with non-indigeonous Plant Pathogenic Bacteria in the UK, you
will need to be Licenced. Sales of NCPPB strains are subject to proof of holding the appropriate Plant Health
Licence which is available from DEFRA in England and Wales, and SEERAD in Scotland
