I bought an LG AC with a 3 star rating from a dealer show room. The persons for installing the AC came in the evening and they forgot to bring the air conditioner coil. Then kept the AC installed by doing the drilling work and fitted the AC and gave the connection to the AC power outlet. The only thing pending was the air conditioner coil to leave the exhaust water out. The next day the persons came and fitted the air conditioner coil and received the service charge for the installation but I was told that there was no installation fee. The AC was working well and my friend asked me a suggestion on buying an AC after seeing mine. I told him to research the internet and first to fix a budget for the AC and then search for the AC that comes under the budget fixed. The most important criteria to be noted while purchasing an air conditioner is to look for the star ratings as this will reduce the running cost of the air conditioner by saving on the electricity bill. The air conditioner with the highest five star rating will help preserve power and the star ratings are offered for all electronic goods including the washing machine, fridge, and other electronic appliances. Then the next step is to read a lot of customer testimonials and the product reviews on the internet and then decide on the pros and cons of the selected brand. Then the next most important aspect to be considered is the customer service and maintenance of the company like replacing the air conditioner coil and cleaning the filter etc. Finally contact the company person and make the purchase. My friend was listening patiently and accepted to my advice and said he would follow the steps that I told him while purchasing the air conditioner. The air conditioner coil can be bought in the electronic shops individually and can be fitted in the air conditioner using the service person and once the coil gets damaged the same can be bought from the company but the price of the air conditioner coil in the company will be higher but when purchased outside, it will be cheaper and can be fitted with ease using a local electrical guy. The annual maintenance for the air conditioner will be charged by the company personnel and this is essential to ensure the smooth functioning of the air conditioner.
