Ben Xu Artist - Gallery and Studio
Mr. Ben Xu was raised in a family of artists. He began his realism training at an early age. He earned his Master's Degree of Art in painting at the Sam Houston University in 1997. He has participated in many group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has been a professional artist in oil painting, water color, color pencil drawing and live drawing for 35 years. His art works are collected by private collectors, Sam Houston State University, the municipal, provincial, and regional governments in P.R. China. Mr. Ben Xu is a member of the Asian-American Fine Art Association and the Chinese Artist Association, P.R. China. Mr. Ben Xu has been teaching fine arts for 12 years, instructing in the lessons of college level since 1993. Courses are live drawing, color pencil drawing, water color, oil painting, art appreciation, art history and comparative studies of the Oriental and Western art. Two of his students won prizes in the International Youth Arts Competition in 1996. Some of his students were admitted to the Rhode Island School of Design, the Parson' School of Design, Mass Art and the University of Pennsylvania.
