Amalia Banares Helmy Folksong Singer - Philippino music
Hello everyone,
This website is dedicated to all music enthusiasts or just simple want to explore in music.
I started composing songs at the age of 14. My first composition is entitled DUKHANG MUSIKERO(Poor musician} is dedicated to filipino street musicians. Street musicians in the Philippines can't afford to buy even a decent guitar or any decent musical instrument because they are beggars. In my observation, they are brilliant performers. They just don't have proper music equiptments and proper venues to play. This sight stuck me so much even up to now that I'm already in my late 40s. Street musicians in the Philippines are beggars unlike in European countries where musicians from all walks of life can be street musician too if they want to do so. We have also blind (musician) bands who perform incredibly beautiful songs. They perform mostly in busy sidewalks in Metro-Manila.
The second song titled BAYAN KO(My Native land) is dedicated to my countrymen who lives abroad( immigrants or overseas workers) because away from your own country is just like living in the world with uncertainty. Our country Philippines is still very much miss by my countrymen,
