A British team has finally completed one of the hardest flights on the planet. Taking 2 years, and using 2 helicopters, accross 20 countries and 20,000 miles, Steve Brooks and Quentin Smith flew their Robbinson 44 helicopter to the North Pole in 2002. From there they made their way south, down through America, Central America, Columbia, Venezuela, down through the Amazon, Argentina, down the Antarctica Peninsular to Patriot Hills and finally up the 9 1/2 thousand foot slope to the south pole itself. This feat considered impossible by many has moved boundaries for helicopter expeditions to a new high.
