tom craig, photographer - Tom Craig who has been nominated for three consecutive years as the British magazine photographer of the year has been working on a unique project and collaboration. His proposal was to take a selection of the worlds most interesting writers to some of its most extreme locations. Each time visiting and endorsing the work of Nobel peace prizing winning organisation Medecins sans Frontieres. A contract for serialisation with The Sunday Times magazine helped facilitate trips to 14 different countries in 2 years. Remarkable pairings including Martin Amis in Colombia, Daniel Day Lewis in the middle East, D.B.C Pierre in Armenia, A.A Gill in Chad, Joanne Harris in The Congo, Jim Crace in Cambodia and Danny Boyle in Uzbekistan. The images that follow are a selection from these adventures. A book charting these extraordinary journeys will be published in 2007.
