My work mirrors my interests concerning the present society and the way we live. Over the time in my work I have followed two reoccurring themes. Firstly I am fascinated by the representation of male and female aspects around us. What and who do we call normal and who is placed outside of this term? What is the ultimate origin of (ab)normality. Who decides what is strictly male and what remains female? I have translated these questions into material world. By projecting masculinity into steel/iron and femininity into silk/pearls I unite both aspects into one. There is no longer a strict border between the female and the male. The way we treat our planet concerns me. We dispose, in an instant something which is beautiful without a second thought. To me, the disposable Nespresso coffee capsules ARE beautiful. The collection "Throw away gold" is about a specific point of time within the human cultural development.
