Tahir: Fine Art Paintings in Los Angeles and Palm Springs
Tahir Fatah was born in Sulaimaniya in Kurdistan of Iraq in 1942. In 1958 he attended the Art Institute in Baghdad. He came to the United States in 1964 and in 1970 graduated with an MFA from The Art Institute of Chicago. He has exhibited his paintings in Chicago, Washington D.C, San Francisco and Los Angeles and most recently at Harbor College in San Pedro, California in October of 2002. Presently he lives in Palm Springs.

In April 2003 Colonel Michael Whitehead, an Army Reservist, flew into Iraq and began a ten month eyewitness view of the opening year of the war. Messages from Babylon is an email diary of life in a combat zone, and provides an inside story of his experiences with the Marines, the Coalition Provisional Authority and the twenty eight nation Multinational Division that replaced the Marines at Camp Babylon.
