Durbin, a well known and popular band group of Bangladesh Music Arena, is a reflection of passion & enthusiasm that creates everlasting music. Since its inception in 2004, it is striving to achieve excellence in promoting art & culture of Bangladesh through their well composed music. Within this short period of time Durbin has become a contender of a successful band or music group.
Success of any band group largely relies in its acceptance by the masses. Durbin too has become one of the most popular bands, winning hearts of thousands of audiences of all ages. Its nomination in the final round of Meril ? Prothom Alo Taroka Jarip 2008, out of hundreds of band groups of the country reflects respect and love of the audiences. In the very same year, Durbin secured 8th position in the top 100 hits of Radio Foorti based on listeners? vote.
Durbin portrays itself as a Melody Rock band. It is strongly influenced by evergreen legends around the world - The Beatles, Pink Floyd etc. and pioneering legends of Bangladesh - Tapan Chowdhury, James, Ayub Bachchu, Nakib Khan and others.
Today, Durbin is a family of 8 members, lead by the band leader Shahid, though there were only three people to take the step in 1994. Unlike many other upcoming or growing band groups, Durbin never lost any of its members, rather added new ones giving exposure to unexposed and natural talents, at regular intervals. There has always been a breathing space for the members, in terms of sharing or sometimes even supporting different school of thoughts, sheltering stunning individual talents and most importantly creating a bond found only in a family.
