Who We Are A Fresh Expression of the Restoration Movement. New Hope is a gathering of people who believe that biblical Christianity does not have to become victim to religious structures that debilitate its ability to be fresh, helpful and vibrant in this time and culture we live in. Luke says that “No one puts new wine into old wineskins, for the wine bursts the old skins, ruining the skins and spilling the wine. New wine must be put into wineskins” (5:37-38 LB). The wineskins (church traditions, dogma, external rites, ceremonies, practices) are the point of contact between the wine (the gospel of Jesus Christ) and the world. Wineskins are determined both by the wine’s properties and the world’s pressures. Wineskins result when divine gospel touches human culture.
