Barrel Bikers MCC
Milton Keynes based bike club open to everyone who rides a bike. We meet every Wednesday at the Greyhound at Haversham (nr Milton Keynes) from 8pm onwards. We go out on runs, bike meets, meet with other clubs in the area, go to rallies, parties, custom shows, and generally have fun with like minded people.

Welcome to the HAB website. The story begins when Chris’ and Joe’s paths crossed in the ‘80s when they met on a Truffle hunting holiday but their common history began when the whisky glasses came out. Joe noticed that Chris approached the rare whisky that he ordered as if he was examining and analyzing a chef’s creation to decipher the mix and volumes of ingredients and spices.
First his eyes, examining the colour and swirling the glass to examine the “legs” of the spirit on the side of the glass, then the nose, slowly inhaling the bouquet and dissecting it into the many individual scents that make up the aroma. Then the tongue, tasting a droplet and letting the taste fill his mouth before he began discerning the many component flavours evident in the whisky. An enduring friendship was borne in the discussions that ensued that day and was nurtured in the years of single malt whisky examination and discussion and consumption that followed, bridging the 3,500 miles that separated them.
They began sharing their joint interests with friends when they planned and initiated their own biennial tours of single malt “Whisky Trails” that they affectionately named the “Hug-A-Barrel Tours.” Beginning as a group of four, the tour group eventually grew into a second vehicle and then filled a small aircraft as the expanded group air-hopped from region-to-region to visit an increasing number of distilleries in the four-day tour period.
These visits always involved liberal samplings along with the distillery and whisky warehouse tours. They also stimulated seemingly endless discussions of the relative merits of various single malt whiskies.
