Markazul Ma'arif, a Non-Government Social Welfare Organization, established in the year 1982 with Headquarters at Hojai, Nagaon, Assam has remained in the forefront of socio-welfare activities for over two decades and has expanded its activities from publication to Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Relief & Rehabilitation, Environment Protection, Employment Generation and a host of other humanitarian and welfare programmes. It has branch offices at Delhi and Mumbai and its activities are not limited to Assam and the North-East only but has ramified over the whole country and its beneficiaries are not limited to any particular community but percolate to all sections of society. Of late, the Markaz has prioritized education as its thrust area realizing the need of education as the most efficient instrument of rapid social transformation. From establishing schools in the nook and corner of North-East India to spreading literacy through ambitious programmes such as the Cent Percent Literacy Programme(CPLP) with sponsorship from the internationally reputed Ajmal Group of Companies and from conducting state level Talent Search Examinations with the aim of identifying and supporting brilliant but poor students to felicitating the toppers of the High school and Higher Secondary School Leaving Examinations as a gesture of inspiring and encouraging students to foster a competitive spirit and to perform better and better, Markazul Ma'arif dreams of ushering in d revolution in the field of education.
