I really enjoy color and have moved from using commercial fabrics (although they still are included at times) and now paint or dye the fabrics that I use. I am also incorporating rubber stamping, foiling, discharge and resist work in my fabrics-- with metallic, opalescent, iridescent and interference paints all included. Elements from nature are included in the design. Colors tend to follow triadic combinations, I work intuitively and spontaneously most of the time, although I usually have a clear idea of where I want the piece to go- I particularly enjoy incorporating multiple levels of depth to my work, bringing one in closer and closer to see more detail. The sewing machine is the final embellishment tool, adding lustrous threads and couched ribbons and yarns.
