Welcome to my website. My name is Janet Bluhm. I am 63 now. I have been blessed with 3 wonderful children and 5 fabulous grandchildren. I have been drawing since I was 7, but I was afraid to show my art work because my mom said it was a terrible thing until 1970 when someone offered to give me lessons but told me I was better than her. I am so lucky, I feel I should share my God given talents with you. I am a cancer survivor. During my treatment in 1984, I found out that stress does cause cancer because your defenses are down. So, when I finished the massive chemotherapy and radiation treatments, I quit my stressful job and enrolled in The Art Institute of Houston. I felt I needed some credentials so I have an AA degree in Visual Communications. Back then graphics were just pixels. Now that digital photos are available to make prints. I can finally offer affordable prints of my paintings. I am looking forward to painting many more for you.
I would love to hear your comments and suggestions on future painting subjects. I am obsessed with the wild animals, especially Tigers and Leopards. My home is covered with leopard prints. I have done many murals and custom orders through the years. If you have any suggestions let me know.
