fine art auctioneers. He was formerly Head of Press and a senior director of Sotheby’s in London and most recently a director and Group Head of Press at
Bonhams. During this latter period he successfully steered Bonhams; public relations department from its merger with Phillips Auctioneers to its
acquisition of Butterfields, the premier fine art auctioneers on the West Coast of America. Retaining his principal interest in fine art and antiques, Christopher is now a consultant
specialising in Press, PR and Marketing for a number of auctioneers including Byrne's, The Canterbury Auction Galleries, Chilcotts, Ewbank and Morton and
Eden. Other clients include sculptor David Backhouse and UKauctioneers.com. Christopher has been writing about antiques and collecting since 1979 and his
articles have been published in numerous national and regional newspapers and magazines. He currently writes a weekly collecting column for the Liverpool
