Alena Honigova
Alena Hönigova made her Diploma in the Prague Academy of Music,
and at the „Schola Cantorum Basiliensis“ concentrating
on the harpsichord, fortepiano, thoroughbass and improvisation. Her
teachers were Andrea Marcon, Edoardo Torbianelli, Jesper Christen-
sen, Gottfried Bach and Emmanuel le Divellec. 2001-2009 worked at the
„Schola Cantorum Basiliensis“ as a correpetitor. In 2002 Alena Hönigova formed the
„Muscadin Baroque ensemble“, with which she has premiered several
contemporary works, including the chamber opera „Racine´s Esther“
by Boris Yoffe in 2006.
As a soloist, accompanist and chamber musican, she frequently
collaborates with many early music ensembles and soloists. As re-
cording artist, she appeared on numerous solo and chamber music
CDs, such as „La primavera del barocco“ (Ars Musici AM1406 - 2),
Johann Sebastian Bach: Sonatas for flute and harpsichord (Editions du
Nopal), Salomone Rossi: The Song of Solomon (Panclassics, PC 10214).

Jochewed Schwarz - Home
Jochewed Schwarz is active both in Israel and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician, and regularly appears with orchestras throughout the country. She has also recorded extensively for the IBA’s Voice of Music radio station and for the British label Meridian Recordings. In addition to early music, her repertoire includes modern music for the harpsichord, including works composed especially for her.
A graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music (Tel-Aviv University) and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, Jochewed Schwartz studied with Boris Berman, Rolf Junghanns, Christiane Jaccottet and Emer Buckley. In addition, she studied the construction and maintenance of historical keyboard instruments at the atelier of Reinhard von Nagel. She has been awarded scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation as well as a study grant from the Swiss Government.
Since 2004, with traverso player Geneviève Blanchard, she is the musical director and producer of the concert series Sounds and Words from the Baroque, which takes place in Tel-Aviv and Ma’alot. Jochewed Schwartz has been a guest lecturer for various courses in Israel and abroad, and from 1992-2006 was a senior lecturer at the Rubin Academy of Music. In addition, she holds a Law degree from Bar-Ilan University.
