Welcome to the Wall of Caring
The inspiration for this website was borne by the AMDA member response to moving talks by Dr. Jerald Winakur and Dr. Dennis McCullough at the Annual Symposium in Charlotte. Dr. Winakur, a geriatrician, spoke about his personal story of his father's decline into dementia and how it changed his life, both personally and professionally. In response the AMDA Foundation created a website which would serve as a vehicle in which people could share their inspirational stories of their journeys through the long term care continuum, as well as honor outstanding caregivers. We encourage you to post tributes to loved ones in long term care and/or honor an outstanding caregiver or read the inspirational stories submitted by others.
