Soren Moller - pianist/composer
pianist/composer Soren Moller was raised in a small town in Denmark. He began playing piano at the age of 8, learning both classical and jazz piano from local public school teachers in the community. At the age of 16 Soren Moller was making a living as a piano teacher as well as an accompanist and had started taking lessons in jazz piano from some of Denmark most well known pianists. At 19 he was admitted to the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark. After graduation Soren Moller continued his studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Here he studied with piano great Kenny Barron as well as Garry Dial and Fred Hersch as a Fulbright Scholarship recipient.
After moving to New York in 2002 Soren Moller quickly earned a reputation as a formidable piano talent. As a leader he was accepted to host an ensemble of the most distinguished musicians from the Manhattan School of Music to a performance at the Carnegie Hall as part of the Carnegie Hall Workshop for Jazz Ensembles.
Together with trombone player Chris Washburne and saxophonist Ole Mathisen, Soren Moller has founded the NYNDK Jazz Collective. An ensemble consisting of established musicians from the Scandinavian and the New York jazz scene. Mercedes Smith - Flute
Mercedes Smith, a Texas native, is Principal Flutist of the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet Orchestras. She begins her new position as Principal Flutist of the Pacific Symphony this December. Most recently, she was awarded First Prize in the National Flute Association’s 2010 Young Artist Competition. Ms. Smith was also the Second Prize winner of the 2007 Haynes International Flute Competition and top prizewinner of the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition. As First Prizewinner of Artists International, she gave her New York Recital Debut in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2002. Her debut featured solo and chamber works all by American composers including three world premieres. Also as a recitalist, Ms. Smith performed at the Kunming International Arts Festival, China, in a performance that was televised throughout Asia.
Ms. Smith performed at the Hot Springs Music Festival for three years and was featured in the nationally televised PBS documentary

HUW RHYS-EVANS studied at the Royal Academy of Music London and the National Opera Studio. He is particularly celebrated as a singer of Rossini, roles including Carlo in Armida, Ory in Le Comte Ory, Torvaldo in Torvaldo e Dorliska, Belfiore in Il Viaggio a Reims, Almaviva in The Barber of Seville at the Wildbad Rossini Festival, Germany, Strasbourg Music Festival and Spier Opera Festival Cape Town. Pilade in Ermione and Idreno in Semiramide for Chelsea Opera Group. He recently made his debut with the Norwegian Opera Company in Oslo singing the role of Brighella in Ariadne Auf Naxos and his roles have further included Flute in Britten's Opera A Midsummer Nights Dream for ETO. Nadir in Mozart's The Philosopher's Stone for Radio 3. Young servant in Electra at the BBC Proms, First Jew in Salome at the Bastille Opera, 3rd Jew at Marseille. He has sung in concerts throughout the UK as well as France, Germany. Italy the Netherlands and the United States (Carnegie Hall). His recordings include Gouvy Cantata Egille and Stabat Mater. Mendelssohn Die Hochzeit des Camacho, Carmina Burana and Welsh Folk Songs with Harpist Ieuan Jones. At present he is singing the role of Filippo in Haydn's L'infedelita Delusa for Bampton Classical Opera.
