SocaMotion - Move Your Mas!
SocaMotion is a fun and exciting workout series that features Caribbean moves and music and was developed in the Carnival spirit! Developed by Onya West who has a diverse background in dance, fitness and health the program is a wholistic, 360 degree experience in fitness and a 365 day program to "Keep You Moving Like the Ocean." The movement started in New York in 2010 and includes a range of classes that change with the seasons and fight the plateau effect and boredom. By using easy-to-learn routines that can be adapted to any fitness level and unusual equipment also used in festivals in the Caribbean, your workout will take on a tropical flavor. Classes feature aspects of aerobics, cardio, toning, dance-fitness, mixed martial arts, upper body toning, stretching, walking fitness, yoga, pilates and unique moves adapted from Caribbean culture.
We also lead a variety of events including seasonal bootcamps, indoor and outdoor classes, fitness parties, health fairs and community events.
Unique programs include the SocaSLIMDOWN weight loss challenge that uses Caribbean recipes and the Varsity Squad aimed at getting college students active.
