Artist Nate Baldwin creates large-scale hyper-realistic paintings that are aimed at both creating an impeccable illusion of depth and realism as well as having an equally dramatic emotional impact to the viewer. Previous works have been varied in subject matter, medium, and size, however newer work is much larger and primarily acrylics. The newest series of work is aimed towards illustrating the emotional experiences of life with a mental illness. Nate Baldwin works in conjunction with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to raise awareness and advocate fair treatment of those with mental illnesses as well as shattering negative stereotypes.

Her life in this new society is documented through countless battles with her disease, multiples surgeries, deep debt and a cathartic personal blog.
