Salter's Hill is a registered charity established in 1984 to provide homes for young adults with learning difficulties. What does the future hold for young adults leaving school at eighteen years of age with severe learning difficulties? They need to live full and as far as possible independent lives. Salter's Hill seeks to provide resources and a creative environment to make this possible. We have a proven track record of helping young adults to greater independence and maturity. It is our belief that all people have the right to the same quality of life. Many can only achieve this with appropriate help. Our statement of intent is to provide secure homes and a fulfilled lifestyle for adults with learning difficulties. The services we provided are tailored to meet individual needs following a comprehensive and ongoing assessment, and will be flexible enough to adapt where possible as people age. They will be enabled to reach maximum individual independence supported by a competent and well-trained staff. All steps will be taken to ensure that the people and services have opportunities to integrate and interact with the local community. It is our objective to ensure all staff are fully trained in all aspects of care provision. This is achieved though recognition of N.V.Q and other appropriate qualifications. The organization has adopted the Code of Conduct set by the General Council for Care and all staff work toward this.
