Mark Anthony Mills
BIO
Mark Anthony Mills was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He grew up in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Bed-Stuy and East Flatbush, and graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School. After attending Cornell University, he worked for J.P. Morgan Chase. Following several years of working on Wall Street, Mark was accepted into Columbia University’s Creative Writing Program, where he received his MFA in Fiction. His poetry has appeared in such literary magazines as Obisidian II, while his book reviews have appeared in periodicals such as The Village Voice.
Mark’s first fictional work was published in, In the Tradition: An Anthology of Young Black Writers. His first book was the college textbook, Crafting the Very Short Story. His second book was the collection of short stories, poetry and essays, I & I (Jamaican for me and my people, or me and my God), published by Maat Books. A New Yorker for over 20 years, Mark now resides in Beverly Hills, where he is at work on the novel, Everything is Not Enough, and two screenplays.
