Justin Chesarek
Justin Chesarek of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania became interested in music in the fifth grade. Justin’s first public performances in local night clubs were abundant before reaching into his teenage years. During high school, Justin attended the Pennsylvania Governors School for the Arts and shared the stage with musicians from Africa and Europe. While earning a Bachelors of Music Education degree at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, Justin traveled abroad and performed at the Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals in Europe. Justin’s performance history has logged performances with Wynton Marsalis, John Faddis, Dave Samuels, Gary Smulyan, Michael Mossman, and Conrad Herwig. Currently, Justin is a graduate student of Jazz Studies at Georgia State University. Throughout the Southeast he performs regularly with artists such as Kemba Cofield, Joe Gransden, and Gary Motley. Justin can also be heard every Wednesday night with his own group at Atlanta’s finest Jazz Club, Churchill Grounds.
