Lisa Cinelli
Lisa Cinelli is a painter, children’s book author/illustrator and instructor. She has an MA in Illustration from Syracuse University and a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Lisa teaches Children’s Book Illustration at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and teaches at Marwen Foundation, a Chicago based Arts Program for grades 6-12. She offers private classes in Children’s Book Illustration, Picture Book Dummy/Portfolio Presentation, Printmaking and Painting & Drawing.
She conducts interactive workshops and speaks nationally and internationally at schools and conferences on the world of picture book illustration and the art of weaving together the words and pictures of a story.
Lisa's most recent book is JOSEFINA, THE CHRISTMAS COW (A TALE OF HOPE AND FAITH) by P. Bryn Benson.
Her clients include: Holiday House; Bebop Books; Harcourt Brace Publishers; Scott, Foresman Publishers; David C. Cook Publishing Company; World Book Publishers; Enesco; Nystrom; Baxter Travenol; and “Children’s Magic Window Magazine”.
Lisa Cinelli is a member of The Society of Illustrators; The Children’s Book Illustrators Group, CBIG, New York; Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, SCBWI; scbwi-illinois; and PictureBook Artists.org.
She won the 1999 Don Freeman Memorial Grant-in-aid for Illustration.
