Landscape Climatology
Landscape Climatology is the study and evaluation of local micro-climates in order to get information on differences in temperature, winds, humidity and precipitation between one location and another. Reading the landscape is important in Landscape Climatology, as we explore one climate zone and compare it to other climate zones. One very important application for Landscape Climatology is the Real Estate field. These differences in climate over small areas, can be reflected in significant differences in energy costs. This data can be used to assess costs in electricity and heating of a particular home compared to other homes even in the same neighborhood. Micro-climates may be very different at one house compared to the house next-door, as one house could be facing north and the other house facing in a southerly direction.
