My ceramics are concerned with a personal need to preserve a lost moment in time, an emotionally charged memory fragment to be reorganized, transformed, protected as it moves at rapid speed away from us. Dolls, figures and the natural environment are recent images. Sometimes, surrounded by a box, a cradle, or within a doorway or standing alone, they evoke childhood and innocence and safety

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."(Plato) But what does "Perception" have to do with photography? "Perception: The process or act of recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli, primarliy based on our own personal memories." How we perceive an image, remember a memory, determines the emotion the image will evoke.
Sometimes "simple" is best when trying to capture a memory. I specialize in natural light, outdoor photography and portraits. The portraits will have more meaning to you, as they are taken in areas that are familiar to you, and your family!

I started out using photography as a means of enjoying the outdoors, and got into sports photography when chasing my family across the many area athletic arenas. It quickly turned into a passion where I wish I had more time to enjoy it!
