Court Access -- Federal Rights Project
—
NSCLC Website
The Federal Rights Project, founded by the late NSCLC Attorney Herb Semmel, works to preserve the ability of courts and Congress to protect the health, security and civil rights of individuals under federal law.
The Project monitors and provides strategic analyses of legal and legislative developments, offers training and assistance to litigators and support for policy advocates, and promotes public awareness of the importance of federal rights in the judicial nominations process.
The Project is not limited to issues affecting older adults; we work to strengthen access to justice for all.
We also maintain a listserv, which provides recent case developments, strategy articles, and a forum for discussion of issues affecting access to federal court to enforce rights under federal law, including rights under civil rights and public benefits statutes. It particularly emphasizes federalism and court access developments. It also provides updates on political developments involving the courts, especially judicial nominations.
