Shutter Couple Photographers might have been a more appropriate name. The word Photography implies that the emphasis is really on the output. As a photographer, technically sound output ought to be a given, and indeed, there are many, many technically competent photographers to choose from in any area. We believe what makes pictures truly special, beyond just technical competence, is the relationship and attitude we have with our clients. Our philosophy consists of three main parts.
1.) First and foremost, we put the emphasis on a good personal relationship with our clients, from our first meeting to order fulfillment and beyond. If our clients are relaxed and having a good time, the pictures will show it. We value your time, so we work fast and efficiently. For events, stealth is key. We don't want to be the focus of the event, but rather to disappear into the background and record the event as it happens. Finally, we don't want to hold your photos for ransom. The images we take should be your images. It was your portrait session, or your event. They are your memories, and they belong to you.
2.) We always conduct ourselves professionally, but when it comes to photography, we view ourselves as perennial amateurs. We are confident in our abilities, but photography is, first and foremost, a joy for us. We take photos every day, continually looking for new ways to "see" the world, and we strive to learn and develop our skills every time we pick up a camera, and we forever will. We always remain open to new ideas and new techniques.
3.) We enjoy putting a personal touch on photos. Lighting and post-processing play a big part in this. When appropriate, we capture scenes as realistically and naturally as possible. When the opportunity to apply some creative license to a photo is appropriate, we enjoy trying new lighting and post processing techniques. Often times, we spend more time post-processing photos than we do shooting the photos. Whether it involves retouching, skin smoothing, creating composites, selective coloring, or applying other effects and filters, we love applying our unique creativity to photos. It's just another one of the ways we can set ourselves apart.
