纸币 - Money
纸币，又叫钞票，是指以柔软的物料(通常是纸张)造成的货币，由国家发行的强制使用的货币符号。纸币本身不具价值，虽然作为货币的一种，但其不能直接行使价值尺度职能，而是由国家对其面值进行定义。相较硬币，纸币的面值通常较高。
纸币是当今世界各国普遍使用的货币形式纸币。纸币最早在中国产生，宋朝的交子、会子，作为类似今日汇票的功能，是纸币的前身。而正式发行广泛流通的纸币是在元朝，被称为钞，但在元末至正年间，由于印纸钞过量，造成严重的通货膨胀(其实在南宋末年，便曾出现滥发交子而造成交子严重贬值的现象)。明代发行大明宝钞。清1835年发行了两种纸币，一种大清宝钞，一种叫户部官票，合起来就叫“钞票”。钞票名称就是从那时候叫起来的。
现时的钞票是要有足够的储备才可以发行，香港的钞票便使用了外汇储备来支持它的币值。由于外汇储备有一个固定数目，所以钞票发行量亦受控制，最佳方法便用一个编号去计算钞票的发行量。故此钞票上会有钞票编号。若发行量太多而外汇储备不足够支持，这个地方的货币便会贬值。另外，钞票持有人只须将钞票拿到发钞银行，发钞银行便有责任给持有人“凭票即付”等值的外汇，所以钞票编号亦是一个统计和防伪的资料。
