Light Creates Shadow is the musical project of Marc Changnon. Based in Portland Oregon, LCS has developed a distinct style that blends acoustic alternately tuned guitars, with ethereal melodies, minimalistic aesthetics and progressive arrangements.
The philosophy behind the project is to reconnect the audience with the intuition and synchronicity that occurs during the unconscious experience of sound and art. This path enables us to explore psycho-spiritual faculties such as, death, psychology, dreams, and creation. By establishing this psychical connection, we hope to help create a foundation of healing, abstract interpretation and transference between audience and artist.
The musical influences are an amalgamation of the aesthetics of Low, the progressive phrasings and concepts of Tool, the silence of Nick Drake and the depth of yearning of Sunny Day Real Estate. LCS projects a unique vision and sound attempting to bridge the gap between universal dualities, showing the intrinsic nature that coexists in science, spirituality, psychology and art. By examining these attributes we are able to reconcile and arrive at a formulative questioning of these relationships.
