Ruy Carpenter has been studying photography in depth since 2006. Based primarily in the Fiji islands, he has also traveled around the world, camera in tow.
What interests him most photographically is observing the felt mystery of the world and discovering the depth of contemplation and wonder that is alive under the skin of things.
Whether it's a mind-stopping view, or the dynamic play between an animal and its surroundings, he's always captivated by the magic that occurs when there is a disposition of inherent trust and mutual surrender between subject and object, such that something greater than our material view of the world can be felt and known.
Wherever his travels take him, Ruy's heart always remains at Adi Da Samrajashram, the hermitage sanctuary of his Spiritual Master, Adi Da Samraj.

Loma Alta is a little known area in south Texas where my ancestors homesteaded around 1900. Since that time various family members, starting with Ella and Solomon Winters, have lived at the place we have come to call "the ranch." It is a special spot that has resided in the hearts of many over the years. For everyone from direct descendants to distant cousins and special friends, the ranch has been a place of respite, where folks have come to enjoy the feeling of belonging and to reminisce and tell stories about those long gone who helped define who we are. Rustic and attractive in a way only perceived by a select few, it is "home." Hence the name for this site.
