WELCOME TO FALKIRK TWINNING
Falkirk, Scotland ~ Créteil, France ~ Odenwald, Germany
2,000 years ago all three were outposts of the Roman Empire.
Now they are back together through the bond of twinning.
Falkirk is situated in the beautiful heartlands of Central Scotland and is within easy access of Edinburgh, Glasgow and the popular North and South tourist regions. The area is steeped in history and surrounded by historical buildings and tourist attractions.
The Falkirk Council area is twinned with two twinning Partners:
Its French Partner - Créteil, a large cosmopolitan town lying to the South of Paris, is promoted through the twinning organisation, The Falkirk and District Twinning Association.
Its German Partner The Odenwald, is a quiet, mainly rural area in the South-west of Germany and is promoted through the twinning organisation, The Odenwald Association.
Twinning can take you to new places and expose you to new experiences which you would never enjoy as a tourist. There is a sense of camaraderie in twinning which will enable you to make lifelong friends and enjoy the pleasure of trying to communicate with each other in different languages.
Twinning may be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities, by groups including educational, cultural, sporting and special needs organisations.
Becoming a Member of one or both Twinning Associations is very simple. Membership information and downloadable forms are available from the menus of each of the Twinning Associations.
