22 Yards: The Cricket Club at UMBC (UMBC Cricket Club or just 22 Yards) was formed by cricket enthusiast students from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2004. UMBC is located near the I-95/I-695 interchange, south of Baltimore City. 22 Yards was recognized by the Sports Club Council of the UMBC (SCC), and started receiving funding in 2005.

WristSpin.com is an effort at better understanding the world of cricket and cricket writing. Cricket is big business these days (April of 2009 as of this writing) and more global than ever. With the advent of twenty20 and the IPL, there has been a mad rush to grab a piece of the cricketing pie - financial and more importantly the mind share of the target audience. In all the commotion, a lot of opinions, analysis and writing has flooded everything from newspapers to blogs. In the lead-up to writing this blog the Spinner-in-chief found at one extreme some of the writing inspiring and motivating and at the other, downright poor and agenda laden. The Spinner-in chief strongly believes that, while people have the right to express their opinions, they also have the responsibility to be logical and consistent while writing as experts, especially as “prestigious” outlets.
