But the academics - and everything else - are a way to teach students about the living God who wants to walk through life with each of us. The athletics, the arts, the residential programs - everything curricular and co-curricular - is designed to help students draw near to God, so he can draw near to you. That relationship changes everything. Western is a school, and as such is committed to the life of the mind, to helping students think more deeply and accurately. But above all, our mission is 'to grow as Jesus did, in wisdom and in stature, and in favour with God and people.' Jesus, after all, was the ultimate human being, because he walked with God.
