Combative JuJitsu: Ju-Jitsu (also known as Jiu-Jitsu or Ju-Jutsu) is a classical Japanese martial art and was the Samurai warriors’ primary system of unarmed combat on the battlefield. Its origins can be traced back to Ancient Japan and was formalized around the 16th Century leading to many schools (ryu) developing and teaching their own styles of Ju-Jitsu. It was initially practiced alongside traditional Samurai weapons schooling for use in battle and then, in peacetime, adapted for the streets of Feudal Japan. Ju-Jitsu is also the basis for other arts such as Judo and Aikido.
