Gujarat Dalll Mill association was established by its Chairman named Mr. Ambalal Motilal Patel in the
presence of renowned industrailist named Popatlal Dani.During that time Ambalal M Patel was elected as
chairman by the association in the presence of Chief guest named Shri Popatlal Dani.Initially there were
150 members of this association later on there was an increase in the number and by today there are
around 250 members in the association. In 1985, Shri Maganlal Mehta was elected as chairman of
Gujarat Dalll Mill till today he is serving the association as a Chairman. In earlier years the production of
Towar Dalll in Gujarat state was in abundant quantity which was more than the required consumption of
the state so much so that it was being provided to other state also. But as an when time passed farmers
were moved towards cash crop which lead to the reduction in production of towar Dall so much so that
the state is depending on other states to fulfill its deficit amount of quantity of Dall. Later on there came a
drastic change in the production technology and now customers are offered Dall same as that of manual
sorted Dall which is not done by sortex machinery. Today Vasad stands first in production of Toor Dall in
entire Gujarat State.
