Home - AVCJ Forum: Asia’s Private Equity Week 2011
Now in its 24th year, AVCJ’s Investment Summit is where the global private equity community meets to share war-stories, build new friendships and refresh old ones, and plan the future of the industry in light of recent developments.
In Q1 2011 equities capital markets have been bouncy worldwide: Cash is being withdrawn periodically and in volume from Asian equities to take advantage of price-adjusted assets in the US and Europe: A result of successive bouts of – if not optimism – at least muted pessimism, on the outlook for recovery. With each fresh round of bad news though, much of the capital comes flooding back again, resulting in something of a see-saw effect.
It is in times of uncertainty like these when private equity shows its true mettle, and many global LPs are already ploughing substantial amounts of capital into Asia-focused funds in anticipation of vintage years to come. This year’s event will uncover, amongst other things, how PE fund managers are performing against these expectations.
We look forward to seeing all of our old friends again, and to meeting lots of new ones when we take over Hong Kong from November 7-11.
