Deborah Kopka Designs Botanical Art
Deborah Kopka Designs is your local botanical illustrator with over 20 years of experience in many areas. Headquartered in Perrysburg, Ohio, I began my career as a high school English teacher. I loved teaching, and I still do. But I also love publications. I went on from teaching to serve educational publishers as a writer/editor, editorial director, and author for more than 25 years.
In the 1990s, I was pursuing what I thought would be my ultimate calling to the ministry. But I was redirected by a wonderful book on botanical illustration, a botanical art class, another botanical art class, and yet another! I left graduate school, began drawing and painting, and studied botanical illustration in England and editorial illustration at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
After 20 years on the West Coast, I returned to my native Ohio with my husband and our family of felines. Surrounded by rich farmland and the deeply ingrained Midwestern love of all that grows, I paint, write, and teach through the seasons. My career redirection became my calling, and it always brings me joy!
My mission is to create unique images that evoke the peace and appreciation of the natural world. I'm guided by the belief that botanicals inspire, enrich, and heal us. So, enjoy my art! Deborah Marchant has been making costumes for musical theatre, opera, ballet, film and television since 1971. After training at Wimbledon College of Art in South London, Deborah worked for an established and highly successful firm of Theatrical Costumiers in London's West End before embarking upon a freelance career.

Deborah Britt Pottery
Deborah's ceramic art focuses on form and surface, both in functional and sculptural work. Most of the pieces are fired in a salt kiln, an atmospheric kiln in which salt is introduced once the kiln has reached the proper temperature.
