Started in 1965 by family patriarch Mario Bencivenni, along with his sons, Eddie and Sal, Delicious Restaurant and Pizzeria has been a Glen Cove mainstay for more than 45 years. Using decades-old family recipes and only the finest ingredients, the Pizzeria continues dishing up mouth-watering lasagnas, hearty eggplant parmigianas, decadent canolis, and of course, their signature “pies” which keep customers coming back for more. But more than just delicious food, the restaurant’s success can also be attributed to the sense of family that is evident once you walk through the door. “When my grandfather first started, we had more family than strangers working at the restaurant,” said Mario Bencivenni, grandson and namesake of the original owner. “People felt at home eating here.”
