The is the web site of the plaintiffs in the statewide higher education desegregation case known as John F. Knight, Jr., and Alease S. Sims et al. v. the State of Alabama et al., Civil Action No. CV 83-M-1676, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, Birmingham, Alabama. The purpose of this web site is to increase public knowledge and understanding of the lawsuit and to facilitate better communication between the named plaintiffs, their lawyers and the plaintiff class they have been certified to represent: all black citizens of Alabama and all past, present and future students, faculty, staff and administrators of Alabama State University and Alabama A & M University. We welcome suggestions about how to improve this web site, particularly regarding what information you would find useful and how to improve communications among class members.
