Cook County Disaster Grant - Home
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Cook County President, Todd H. Stroger, and the Executive Director of the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, David R. Ramos, Cook County has received funding to assist Cook County residents who are still facing health and welfare issues relating to the floods of 2008. The Cook County Disaster Grant (CCDG) has been established to assist businesses, families, and individuals who were impacted by the severe storms and flooding that occurred between September 13th, 2008 and October 5th, 2008. As a result of Presidential Disaster Declarations, FEMA’s public and individual assistance programs provided support immediately following the floods. As helpful as these programs were, they did not address many of the human services needs of Cook County residents and businesses. In recognition of this, additional funding has been provided to Cook County, through the Illinois Department of Human Services, specifically for health and human services needs relating to the floods.
