The mission of the Westie Foundation is to benefit the health (including diagnosis, treatment and genetics) and quality of life of Westies, West Highland White Terriers, West Highland Terriers by providing financial aid and other support for medical research in areas such as Atopic Dermatitis (Atopy), Bladder Cancer (Transitional Cell Carcinoma, TCC), Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (Pulmonary Fibrosis, IPF), Addison's Disease, Legg Calve Perthes Disease (Legg Perthes), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), White Shaker Syndrome, Craniomandibular Osteopathy (CMO) and other diseases.
