The charismatic Sterling Satan Magee, described as Parliament Funkadelic-meets-Robert Johnson, has toured with Marvin Gaye, Etta James, King Curtis and James Brown and is widely considered the best one-man-band in the world. The pensive, half-Jewish Adam Gussow is a young university professor, published author, and talented harmonica player. Their tense meeting on the hard-won streets of Harlem during a racially charged mid 80s New York defied cultural expectations and set them on a musical odyssey that would forever change their lives and the audiences they inspired.
