Art & Ecology - Alexander Hamilton
artistic practice broadly can be described as investigating established systems of knowledge and information, with a particularly interested in plant research with a focus on plant cultivation and wild sites. the work is carried out systematically, through a careful process of researching, fieldwork aesthetic contemplation and recording, to finally presenting the visual evidence, in publications or exhibitions. as an artist, like a researcher, committed to a particular controlled path of activity and the work produced remains as evidence of that activity.
the principal method used in my visual enquires for plant recording are the photogram and capillary, techniques that enable the collection of an image that contains unique data, creating a visual image charged with the elements that existed within the plant at that unique moment in time and space
